Pricing / Legal Costs The Cost of a Letter Before Action (7 Day Letter) is £3.00 per letter, and further letters can be purchased in batches of 10 or more. The DCO system is designed for undisputed debt collection. The DCO system will calculate the correct Court Fee, payable to the Court to issue any Claim on your behalf. The System will also calculate the Solicitors fixed costs on the published Court scale. 1) Issuing a Claim. Both the Court Fees and Solicitors Costs are recoverable from the Debtor. The Court Fee for issuing a Claim is as follows:   Amount of Claim Court Fee         Up to £300 £35 £300.01 to £500 £50 £500.01 to £1,000 £70 £1,000.01 to £1,500.01 to £1,500  £3,000 £80 £115 £3,000.01 to £5,000 £205 £5,000.01 to £9,999.99 £455 £10,000 or more   £unlimited   5% of sum claimed               The Solicitors Fixed costs for issuing a Claim is as follows: Amount of Claim Solicitors Costs         £25 £500 £50 Over £500 £1000 £70 Over £1000 £5000 £80 Over £5000   £100 VAT is added to the solicitors fixed costs at all stages. This is not recoverable from the Debtor but can be through your business ( if VAT registered) 2) Entering Judgment There is no Court Fee for entering Judgment . The Solicitors Fixed Costs for entering Judgment, are as follows, and are recoverable from the Debtor: Amount of Claim No Acknowledgement of Claim Acknowledgement/ No Defence £25 £5000 £22 £30 Over £5000   £25 £35 VAT is added to the solicitors fixed cost. This is not recoverable from the Debtor but can be through your business ( if registered for VAT). 3. Enforcement There are minimal recoverable solicitors charges for the issue of the Bailiff's Warrant. The Court Fee to issue the Bailiff's Warrant, recoverable from the Debtor, is: Amount of Claim Bailiff Court Fee £0 £125 £25 £125 £5000 £100 Judgment over £5000 can only be pursued by the Sheriff's Officer through the High Court. The Costs for this are: Court Fee £60 Sheriffs Fee £75 + VAT (failed levy) Solicitors Fee At hourly rate (estimate provided) These costs are recoverable from the Debtor. 4) Statutory Demand The Costs for a Statutory Demand are not recoverable from the Debtor and amount to: Statutory Demand £125 plus VAT. Service: Individual £85 plus VAT.
